New Choices for Engineering Packages System Architecture Applications OS Clients/pieces of glass (32 total per Server) OS Clients/pieces of glass (32 total per Server) New Overview of Benefits Ethernet Ethernet OS Engineering OS Engineering And Client OS Servers (up to 16 OS Server Pairs) OS Servers (up to 16 OS Server Pairs) 1a 1b Engineering Station used as a Client PCS 7 Power Packs available to support more than 250 OS POs Standalone Engineering Station with Unlimited POs OS Engineering with Unlimited POs with a 2-hour limit for Runtime Operation 1a OS Engineering and Single Station or Server 1b OS Engineering with 250 POs with Runtime Operation 1b Ethernet Engineering Station used as Single Station or Server PCS 7 Power Packs available to support more than 250 OS POs PO = Process Object Purchase what you need by choosing the Engineering package that meets your system architecture needs. Bailey OS V7.0

  5. *new starting in PCS 7 V7.0 SP1 PCS 7 Process Object (PO) A Process Object is a control function which includes alarming* and has HMI content (a Faceplate) Overview of Benefits 1 PO Function Block (e.g. Motor) HMI Faceplate Includes Alarming (e.g. Monitoring Time exceeded) + Runs on the Operator Station Runs in the controller Counting Process Objects simplifies Server Licensing by counting objects instead of counting individual object attributes.

  6. *new in 90 OS V7.0 90 OS Process Object (PO) DBA will not mark structures created in PCS 7 that represent Bailey Function Codes as Process Objects (PO).The number of Process Objects is calculated by dividing all external tags by 25.This was done to streamline licensing since on average, Bailey Function Codes result in less than 15 external tags. This was also done to ensure the upgradeability of V6.1 projects without the need to add power packs. Overview of Benefits Counting Process Objects simplifies Server Licensing and uses the same definitions used by PCS 7.

  7. License Management Unified within PCS 790 OS now counts Process Objects Details • Starting in PCS 7 V7.0 SP1 WinCC will begin to count Process Objects rather than WinCC tags. • DBA will not mark 90 OS created structures as Process Objects even though they include Messages/Alarming. • The new license schema does two calculations: • POs = POs counted + (Non PO external tags/25) • WinCC Structures without Alarming • POs = All External Tags/50 • As an Example: • In V6.1 64,000 WinCC Tags = 2000 POs • In V7.0 64,000 WinCC Tags = 1280 POs • The calculated PO number in the above two calculations must not exceed the # of licensed POs. • 90 OS projects average less than 15 tags per Process Object, therefore this should not be an issue when upgrading to V7.0. Overview of Benefits ? Using the same License Management concept as PCS 7 simplifies system specification with expansions using PCS 7. Bailey OS V7.0

  8. Improved Engineering Efficiency (More Automation in DBA)A Technological Win-Win Overview • Lock-down updates to a Picture • Prevents unwanted changes to symbols/block icons. • Direct Import of SCADA PLC Tags • Utilizes the existing Engineering effort that has already been done to define 3rd Party devices integrated into InTouch via OPC Servers, typically PLCs. • This import includes the definition of scale, engineering units, description, and alarm/message definitions. • DBA import of the TTG file has been extended to read the number of decimal places to display and automatically applies these definitions to PCS 7. • Auto-Generate Tag Logging • Eliminates separate engineering steps currently required to define tags to be logged. Overview of Benefits Reduce the time and costs required to engineer projects that include customized controller objects, by reducing errors through automation. Bailey OS V7.0

  9. DBA V7.0 Simplified Tag Import of Tags from Third Party Devices One target system PCS 7 DBA User Interface New Bailey Plug-in OPC ES Data 1-Line csv file Direct Database Import • Provides Support for Integrating any PLC, such as Allen Bradley or Modicon for which an OPC Server exists. • This import includes the definition of scale, engineering units, description, and alarm/message definitions. Bailey Engineering costs are reduced by eliminating the need to manipulate csv files, thereby saving time and effort. Bailey OS V7.0

  10. Auto-Generate Tag Logging Add Tags to History based on Type Definition • In DBA the user selects tags for historization by the OS Server • Standard Trending available in PCS 7 has been improved in V7.0. • Bailey OS V6.1 Enhanced Trend now included since PCS 7 V7.0. • The trend control now allows the user to export the trend trace data displayed on a trend. Overview of Benefits Define storage frequency and define as ShortTerm or LongTerm storage. Engineering costs are reduced by being able to define historization requirements on a type basis. Bailey OS V7.0

  11. New SIMATIC PCS 7 Operator System Historian OS Client Overview of Benefits Redundant OS Server Redundant Central Archive Server Standard PCS 7 Short-term archive Long-term archive Back up and Export • Archive on PCS 7 OS Server: • Tags (e.g. PID001.SP) • Alarms and Events • High Performance Microsoft SQL Server 2005 max. 1000 process values /sec. • Archive Synchronization between redundant Servers • Store up to 10,000 Tags on the OS Server • Central Archive Server: • Archiving of several OS Servers (Tags, Alarms & Events) • Long Term Storage and Data Export (DVD, EXCEL) • Store up to 120,000 Tags on the Central Archive Server • Redundant Central Archive Server Supported Operations can seamlessly view data improving their ability to manage the process. Bailey OS V7.0

  14. Identification of “Emergency Response Required” Alarms New • Icon on Alarm one line is visible when at least one alarm with Priority Class 16 is active. Overview of Benefits Alarm list shows “Highest Priority Alarms” Improving operator response to alarms ensures that alarms that require an “Emergency Response” are not lost in the alarm flood that can occur during a plant upset. Bailey OS V7.0

  15. The Operator can choose Alarms to Hide New Hide/Unhide Messages • Alarms remain hidden for a pre-determined period of time; minutes, hours, or days • The alarms will continue to be generated and logged, however the system will auto-acknowledge them. Overview of Benefits List of Hidden Alarms currently in Alarm List of Hidden Alarms Improving operator response to alarms ensures that alarms that require an “Emergency Response” are not lost in the alarm flood that can occur during a plant upset. Bailey OS V7.0

  16. Symbol and Faceplate for FC194 • The standard view is the default view when the faceplate is first displayed from the symbol or opened directly in the Group Display mode. • The faceplate displays the block descriptions, the current mode, and the current TEXTSTR. • It also allows the operator to enter a response. Overview of Benefits Bailey OS V7.0

  17. Advance Tuning ViewFully Supported via a Web Client • The Advanced Tuning View allows the user to modify runtime configurable spec parameters in runtime. • In addition all other spec parameters can be configured by putting the controller in Configure Mode from the Tuning View. • This functionality requires the user to create a ‘new’ security level to limit access to this feature. Also the user can view data as polled rather than report by exception for any block in the controller. Overview of Benefits Displays live values via Polling. Bailey OS V7.0

  18. Additional Topics • In V6.1 the Station Block output in manual used the same limits as imposed during Auto. This has been changed to allow users to separately define the limits to be imposed during manual operation. The defaults will be 0-100. • Symbols and Faceplates have been updated to include the attributes for defining an Archive Trend. The default definition is to display a Live Trend. • Symbols and Faceplates were updated so that the symbol is highlighted when the faceplate is opened from the symbol. In V6.1 the symbol was highlighted only when opening the graphic using Loop-in-Alarm. Overview of Benefits Bailey OS V7.0
