  2. How To Create Stunning Website ForFree In this guide, we show you how to create an absolutely free website in x easy steps usingWordPress. This guide is designed for absolute beginners who want to create a free WordPress website for their small company. A free website means you won't have to spend anything to develop and design your website, and you'll get a free domain and web hosting aswell. Start a new tab on your screen and follow the steps in this article. In just a few minutes, you'll have your own brand new website up and running, all forfree. 1. Sign-up ForFree First of all, you’ve to head over to wordpress.com and you'll arrive at the WordPress homepage. Then simply navigate over to start your website and here you just need to simply add your email address, username and password. However, you also have the option to sign up with google and other log-in methods as you can see onscreen.

  3. 2. Choose Your Domain The domain name for your website is ideally your business name. However, if your business name has already been taken then you can create variations of your business name. Also, you can add keywords related to your business in yourdomain. 3. WordPressDashboard This is where the magichappens. If you want to view your current site you can navigate up to visit the site or simply navigate over to the left-hand side and click on your websitehere. And down here you can see through your current website. You will see a default view of your website before you make any customizations. Now you can go through the different pages you have; a home page, blog page, about page, contact page. We're going to show you how to remove and create new pages as well as customize these websitepages. You can also navigate up and see where it says desktop and view your website in tablet view or phone view. Essentially what we want to do is make sure your website is responsive across everydevice.

  4. 4. Site Name &Identity Now what you want to do is customize your new website. Navigate over to my home and the first thing you want to do is name your website. Click name your site then simply navigate over to your site title and change it to your businessname. Then come down and describe your business in a few words under the site title. And once you've added your site title, go to the site icon. Now, this is the square icon that shows up in your browser so you would like to personalize it. To do this, you have to come down and click change now. This is where you want to upload your own square icon or logo for your WordPressWebsite. If you have your icon or logo ready, simply navigate up to add new and just locate your logo and then click open. And if you're happy with your site icon and logo come down and click continue. Make sure your icon is square ideally 500 x 500 pixels, then come down and clickdone. All you need to do is navigate over to settings scroll down to launch site and then simply click launch site. And then your website will be live online for visitors to find your website and for you to start promoting your website across different platforms.

  5. And later on, when we're ready to launch our website, we'll come back here and click launch site. At the moment if the visitors arrive on your website they will just see comingsoon. Make sure that you've saved settings, ignore launch site for now and click save settings. Then simply click return to my home or navigate over to the left and click myhome. 5. WordPressThemes Next, you want to make sure that you are happy with the overall appearance style and theme. So you can head back to your website by clicking the home button up there and that's going to take you to your current WordPresswebsite. You would see you have your new site title there and below that, you have your site tagline. If you are not happy with the style and appearance of your website, you can actually change to another theme that best represents your business or resonates with yourbrand. Simply navigate over to the left-hand side and scroll down to the appearance and click on themes. Under the themes section, you can see the current theme which is active on your website. However, you can navigate through all the different themes and view them and see if they work with your business type. Select the theme you like, and this will take you to an overview of thattheme.

  6. You will see a live demo option at the top right-hand side, and if you scroll down you can have a quick look at the theme; its home page and other details. And if you're happy with the theme all you need to do is simply navigate up to Activate ThisDesign. You’ll then get a pop-up asking if you would like to update the theme of your website with or without changing its content. Note, if you had made any changes to your website content and choose to use the theme content, it’ll bereplaced. You can then come down and click Activate and View Site and just like that you've changed the whole appearance style and theme of yourwebsite. 6. Customize PrimaryMenu Now you can customize each page with content, images and more so. Todo that simply navigate up to my site and then come downto appearance and then select menus. You can also select add menu here and before you go ahead and customize the content on each page you want to customize our universalmenu. You can simply click the pencil icon near the menu and then navigate downto Add new pages. Or you can also click on the little red xnext to each of the pages to delete a page if you don't wantit.

  7. You can also reorder your menu items or change the name of them. And all you need to do for it is click the down arrow and then simply change the navigation label and that's going to change thename. 7. AddSub-pages Lastly, you can add subpages to your primary menu. For example, if you had multiple services you could come down to add items and then simply add another page and then click add. You can repeat this process for as many pages as youwant. Now if you exit out of that, you can see you have several menu items now on your screen and it doesn’t look very clean. So instead, what you can do now is, addsub-items. Click on the page you want to be a sub-page and move that under the parentpage. 8. Add Logo ToMenu Now, if you want, you can add a logo by navigating up there and selecting Select Logo and simply drag and drop your logo there or you can select from yourfiles. Click open your file and then come down and click select here. And you want to make sure that your entire logo shows so select the sides carefully then scroll down and click cropimage And just like that you have now a logo for yourwebsite.

  8. 9. Add Social MediaLinks To add social media links to your website you have to add one more element to your menu. Simply head back navigate over to the menus section, click on Social and then you can see the option to add the custom links of all your social media profiles. So if a visitor lands on your website and they click one of these social media links that's going to take them straight to your dedicated social mediahandle. And you can also customize the appearance of this menu the way that you like just like you did for your primary menu. It's very easy to make changes, like you can simply navigate over and drag and drop each of these elements to change the arrangement. And then if you scroll down you can see you can add or remove additional items as youlike. To add the social media links, simply open your whatever social media profile page you want to share the link of, copy the url and add thathere. 10. WordPressPlugins Now what you want to do is head back to your dashboard and focus on customizing each of these pages that you've just added to yourmenu. Simply click exit and that's going to take you back to your wordpress dashboard. Now if you navigate over to plugins with the free plan you don't have access to theseplugins.

  9. However, if you decide to upgrade to the business plan or another paidplan you'll get access to thousands of different plugins that add extensive features to yourwebsite. But for now, let's go ahead and customize each ofyour websitepages Customize WebsitePages Simply navigate up to pages and under pages you can go ahead and create anew page if you like. You can also customize your existingpages the way you would like for your business torepresent. You can add more function to your pages by customizing it with the page builder. And once you learn how to use the page builder you can replicate what you learned for each page. Starting with home page, you can start customizing it and add more function to it by using the WordPress editor. Now, the wordpress editor uses a block builder, a simple structure to build your websitepages. WordPress Editor = BlockBuilder Before we start using it, let's navigate up to the topand understand allthese differentelements.

  10. So starting on the left hand side if you click this block editor sidebar. This essentially will show you the current website page that you'reediting. You also have the recently edited pages, yourwebsite pages down there, thatyou can select. That's going to bring it up into the wordpress editor and you canstart Editing itthere. You also have drafts and home. So, if you exit out of that one you can create a new block by simply clicking add block and if you scroll down you can select the block that you want to add into yourpage. This is essentially the layout the structure of your website page. If you want to add a paragraph you could go ahead and select paragraph, list, classic table, and there's all these other options you can choose from. If you come down to the media, you can add an image gallery, audio, and video. You also have the customization for buttons, columns, and groups. So this is how you customize your website page. And then if you exit out of that, you will see next to this the modes, this basically is a way that you use theeditor.

  11. You will also see the undo option in the top-right corner. So if you make a change that you don't like you can simply undo them and then on it’s right we have preview. So preview is essentially for, when you make any edits on your website page you can preview thosechanges. Make sure that those changes are responsive on your website page. You can see the responsiveness of those changes on tablet, phone, search, andsocial. Next to preview you will see update, this is for making any saves to the changes you've made on your websitepage. And then next to update, you have launch to launch your website online for the visitors. And then you have switch to draft; this is ideal when you're creating a new page from scratch you can edit it as a draft, then when you're ready to publish it simply click onpublish. Then over on settings you will get more options whichyou can explore. 13. Edit TextBlocks Because this is a block builder, you can make changes to text easily. Like to highlight a text, you can simply navigate to the block and click over it. You also have formatting options up there, and you can also insert text simply by typing or pasting init.

  12. The header is in H1 format, and you want to make sure it’s compelling. Below that you have another text area, write something there that briefly describes what your business isabout. You can also change the design and formatting of it andadd more text blocks as you prefer it tobe. 14. EditButtons Click on the button you can see you have more formatting options for this look of thisbutton. What you can do is simply click add button and add an additional button whatever you like. You can keep this button as contact if you want to send visitors to your contact page if they click on it. To do this you need to link it to your contact page by simply clicking link and then start typing in contact and you will see the pages will automatically appear. Select the contact page and you will see the button will now send people to the contactpage. You can also choose to open this in a new tab. However, if it is not an external link you can keep thatoff. Like this you can customize all the other buttons in your webpage.

  13. 15. ChangeCover Now if you also want to change the background, you can do that by just clicking on the background and navigating up to replace. Navigate down and upload your own background images or navigate to pixels free photos and type in a keyword that's related to your business and find a background image. Hit search ad select the image that you want touse. You can edit the text s by simply navigating to them and replacing them with yourown. Add NewBlock To add other blocks in each of a section you can simply come down and click on add another block. If you want add a button to it, you can browse the element under design and click buttons. For example, if you want to add Learn More option in your homepage, you can navigate up to link and then type in the about uspage. And like this your visitors will be redirected to your about us page when they click onit. EmbedVideo To embed a video into any section, come down to embeds and you can select youtube, if you like, and then add the video url in here. Then click on embed and save the changes you just made. You will see you now have a video embedded onto your homepage.

  14. When you're finished with your home page simply navigate up to blockeditor Sidebar and that's going to show that you're currently editing the homepage. Now if you're ready to edit any of the other pages youcan simply clickon those pages and start editing those pages the sameway. Take time to go through all your different website pages and add the content the way that we just showed you with the home page. It's very easy make sure you do take the time to craft each website page and then when you're ready you can go ahead and launch yourwebsite. Make sure that your home page or any of your website pages are responsive across alldevices. However, before you do that update yourblogs. 18. Add Blog &Posts Now you would like to add some blogs and posts to your website, without which the whole website will be incomplete. So head back over to block editor sidebar and come down to blog. Here you are on your blog page. Now, if you navigate down you can see that you need to add a title and remove the example blogposts.

  15. Or you can just edit them and add our own content. However, before you go live you do want to make sure that you don't have these default posts on your live website. This is where your blogs are going to appear, every time you create a new post which we'll show you how to do shortly, that's going to appearthere. So navigate back to the top and quickly add a title to your blog. Format it until you are happy with the final results and click close. Now quickly update this page and save thosechanges Edit Or Delete Posts Navigate over to block editor and come down to viewpages, scroll down toposts and that's going to take you to the three example posts that you have at the moment. What you can do is simply delete these by clicking the three icons andcoming Down and clicking trash and that's going to get rid of your post. Or rather than deleting this post you can go ahead and customize this existing post. When you've made those changes simply clickupdate. LaunchWebsite! When you're ready to launch your website onlinesimply navigatedown to launch site. Or you can also find this option down in the settings.

  16. When you select launch site wordpress is going to prompt you to upgrade to a paid plan and purchase a domain. But you can navigate down to skip purchase and then again click start with a freesite. But then again wordpress does not give up and they prompt you to upgrade to a paid domain. But what you're going to do is come down to no thanks I'll stick with the yoursitename.wordpress.com and click there and that's going to take you to your newwebsite. So give wordpress one moment and you'll see that you've launched your website. Navigate over to visit site and Congratulations! Just like that you've gone ahead and created your brand new small businesswebsite. As you have seen it's a very straightforward process. It will take time to create each website page and to add content and to structure it the way that you like. However, with these easy steps you can create a website and launch it for free online.
