Set up your account • Go to http://twitter.com and find the sign up box. • Enter your name, your email address, and a password. • On the next page, select a username – type your own or choose the one we've suggested. • Click Create my account.
Tips for picking a username • Your username or “handle” is the name your followers use when sending @replies, mentions, and direct messages. • @aliciakanderson • @suzspear • @gregt12 • @Sage_Summit • It will also form the URL of your Twitter profile page. • Fewer than 15 characters in length.
MOST IMPORTANT: follow @Sage_Summit and @blythecollc! • After signing up, follow a handful of accounts to create a customized stream of information on your homepage. • Following means you'll get that user's Tweets on your Twitter homepage • You can unfollow anyone later on. • Read the Twitter 101 article here, which offers details into how to begin getting the most out of Twitter. • Take the Twitter Tour to find out where things are on the website.
Twitter on your phone/tablet • Go to http://www.twitter.com/download/iphone and follow the instructions on that page. • From Google Play (just search for Twitter) or https://twitter.com/download/android • Once the app is installed on your Phone/tablet, you can sign in with an existing account. • Easy to share photos/Instagram
