Author • UK’s biggest selling non-fiction author • 1st travel book: The Lost Continent – a funny account of a trip in his mother’s Chevy around small-town America • Many books followed… including an award winning book about modern England. • A Short History of Nearly Everything won several awards and became an international bestseller.

  4. Honors • For the 350th anniversary of the Royal Society, Bryson edited Seeing Further, a history of the Royal Society. • Bryson has been Chancellor of Durham University since 2005 • Was awarded an honorary Order of the British Empire for services to literature • President of the Campaign to Protect Rural England
