  5. ICD-9 Wont Disappear completely! September 30, 2014 and back claims will still need ICD-9-CM

  6. Why? VS This patient did NOT provide insurance information! Instead the patient provided incorrect information!

  14. Communicate with your Software Vendor! Upgrades & Training? Costs? Handle ICD-9 and ICD-10?

  15. Communicate with your Insurance Companies!Any changes to policies?Any payment delays?Are they testing?ARE THEY READY?

  17. Doctor Documentation! Poor Documentation = Loss of Revenue!

  19. You need to document the visit as if you were on trial!

  20. If your coders have NOT been trained, you must send them to a training session!

  21. Forums and Listserves wont be able to do the coding anymore once ICD-10 arrives

  22. The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) requires their coders beICD-10 tested for recertificationThe Professional Association of Healthcare Coding Specialists (PAHCS) does not!
