What’s New? • FLKRS is compromised of FAIR-FS (screening tasks) and WSS • FAIR-FS is administered online via AIR and is computer-adaptive. • WSS (Work Sampling System) is the observation component of FLKRS and it replaces the ECHOS portion of FLKRS. • The 2014 FLKRS in Lee County should be administered to Kindergarten students August 18 – September 26, 2014. • All data entry into PMRN must be completed no later than September 26, 2014. • PMRN will be accessible beginning August 15, 2014. • For Lee’s public and public charter schools registered in PMRN, our I.S. Department will have Kindergarten data loaded into PMRN by August 25, 2014.

Florida Kindergarten Readiness Screener (FLKRS) • In compliance with Section 1002.69, F.S. • All kindergarten students in each public school must be screened • Each child who was enrolled in the VPK education program during the previous school year must be submitted for the statewide kindergarten screening (FLKRS), regardless of whether the child is admitted to Kindergarten in a public or non-public school • Consists of two parts: • the Work Sampling System™ (WSS™) • the screening portion of the Florida Assessments for Instruction in Reading (FAIR-FS)

Next Steps • Verify with your principal that they have logged in and created school-level users. • Download and read the FLKRS TAM (located at http://accountability.leeschools.net/tc/flkrs.html). • Download and read the FAIR-FS K-2 TAM (located at http://accountability.leeschools.net/tc/flkrs.html). • Download the Class Record Form for WSS observations (located at http://accountability.leeschools.net/tc/flkrs.html). • Beginning August 18, record observations for the WSS portion of FLKRS. • Beginning August 25, log into PMRN and begin administering the FAIR-FS portion of FLKRS. • Beginning August 25, log into PMRN and enter your WSS observations.
