What Were They Thinking • What were we thinking? • Efficiency SEER and EER < 65,000 Btuh • ASHRAE 90.1 adopted the 13 SEER/7.7 HSPF standard for the 3-phase products less than 65,000 Btu/h. • The Department of Energy (DOE) has not yet adopted the 13 SEER/7.7 HSPF standard as a Federal standard. • The Federal standard for the 3-phase products is still at 10 SEER. June 16, 2008 the Federal Standard will be 13 SEER.
