  3. More About Asa: • 14:1- 10 years of peace • v2- He did good and right in the sight of the Lord • v7- He built and prospered • v8- He had an army of 580,000: all valiant warriors

  5. Asa calls to the LORD • v11- “Then Asa called to the LORD, his God, and said, ‘LORD, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and those who have no strength; so help us, O LORD our God, for we trust in You, and in Your name have come against this multitude. O LORD, You are our God; let not man prevail against You.’”

  6. God speaks to Asa through Azariah • 15:2 …’the LORD is with you when you are with Him. And if you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will forsake you.’ • FORSAKE Def: Abandon, leave, break off from, give up on, to desert

  7. The People’s Response • v13- “…whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death…” • v15- Rejoicing, peace • v19- No war for many years

  10. How Asa Ends his Reign • v10- He is angry oppresses the people • v12- does not seek the LORD

  11. Food for thought from Asa 1. What is our million man army? (14:11) • Rely on God 2. If we seek Him, He will let us find Him. If we forsake Him, He will forsake us. (15:2) • How are we doing in this area? Are we with Him or without Him? • If we took an oath to be put to death for not seeking Him, how long would we live? 3. The eyes of the LORD are searching the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. (16:9) • What does He see when His eyes look at our heart?
