  3. Inquadramento geografico L’area compresa tra Bahamas-Florida e Cuba mostra estese piattaforme sommerse da un mare sottile. Queste sono sede di sedimentazione carbonatica che da luogo alla formazione di rocce calcaree in seguito ai fenomeni di diagenesi. Nella foto (ricostruzione da Immagini da satellite) esse appaiono di colore azzurro chiaro.

  4. Inquadramento climatico Radiazione solare annua (kcal/cmq/anno) Nel confronto con l’area mediterranea, attualmente Cuba riceve una quantità di radiazione solare annua leggermente superiore.

  5. Inquadramento climatico Temperature medie annue (°C) Anche le temperature medie risultano leggermente superiori, essenzialmente in ragione della latitudine

  6. Precipitazioni medie annue (mm) Inquadramento climatico La zona occidentale di Cuba riceve oltre 1 m (quasi due in limitate aree) di pioggia annua, ossia da 2 a 3 volte la piovosità delle aree pugliesi.

  7. In una elementare classificazione climatica, Cuba è caratterizzata da clima tropicale con una stagione secca ed una piovosa. Il nostro clima invece è di tipo mediterraneo, con aridità estiva e precipitazioni essenzialmente invernali.
