  2. INTRODUCTION This presentation provides an overview of the scopeoflanguagedisorderstreatedbyspeech therapists. We will discuss the different types of languagedisorders,theircauses,andhowspeech therapistsevaluateandtreatthem.

  3. TYPESOFLANGUAGEDISORDERS Therearetwomaintypesoflanguage disorders:receptiveandexpressive.Receptive language disorders affect a person's ability to understandlanguage,whileexpressive language disorders affect a person's ability to uselanguagetocommunicate.

  4. CAUSESOFLANGUAGEDISORDERS Languagedisorderscanbecausedby avarietyoffactors,includinggenetic disorders,braininjuries,and developmentaldelays.Environmental factors,suchasalackofexposureto language,canalsocontributeto languagedisorders.
