Work Continues Despite… • Budget Cuts and state funding deficit • Community Mercury Reduction Program has expanded to include 18 major municipalities • Parallel mercury collection and recycling programs are being implemented in the rural areas of Wisconsin • Wisconsin's Cooperative Agreement Law sunsets on October 1, 2002 with 7 agreements. • DNR Waste Management Program is currently conducting a state-wide study of the Wisconsin-generated municipal solid waste stream.

  3. And continues… · Developing fact sheets and other instructional materials to support the new voluntary Pollution Prevention for Agrichemical Dealerships (PPAD) program. Thirteen facilities are participating in the program this year. • Creating an Ag P2 web site as part of the Wisconsin One-Stop Pollution Prevention site. • Establishing incentives to increase participation in Ag P2 with the help of an industry advisory group.

And continues… • SHWEC is in a renaming process to SHWEC/Center for Environment and Energy • Includes focus on residential, renewables and dairy energy conservation • wiP2.uwex.edu web site continues to grow • SHWEC is in a renaming process to SHWEC/Center for Environment and Energy • Includes focus on residential, renewables and dairy energy conservation • wiP2.uwex.edu web site continues to grow • Mercury in schools and dental hg reduction efforts continue • Starting a small POTW outreach effort shortly.
