  2. What is Android for phones & tablets? Androidis the name of the mobile operating system made by American company; Google. It most commonly comes installed on a variety of smartphones and tablets from a host of manufacturers offering users access to Google’s own services like Search, YouTube, Maps, Gmail and more. This means you can easily look for information on the web, watch videos, search for directions and write emails on your phone, just as you would on your computer, but there’s more to Android than these simple examples. Android devices account for 44.5% of all computing devices shipped in 2014 1.5 million Android devices activated daily!

  6. Here are some examples of tasks you can perform from an Android: The line drawn between computing and telecoms has blurred irrevocably in the last five years. Phones are computers and computers are phones, making it easier than ever to run your home / business single-handed everywhere 1 2 Fill in, sign and return forms, contracts, payments 3 Create and edit documents, spread sheets and presentations 4 Track deliveries or purchases from anywhere Descrierea 5 Load and display images from or to any other PC/MAC 6 View and email designs, tasks, appointments, groceries list… Film, take and share pictures at any time and many more…

  7. What about Android Security? • By default they don't run an Anti-Virus, therefore some applications can contain a virus within, that we're not aware of, hence other devices on the Wi-Fi network can be infected or your phone can get a virus if it was clean before. • Any Android device can be easily hacked if the user is not protecting it with a password/pattern lock and if the software is not up to date; • Once the device is hacked, everything within, including private documents, notes of accounts, credit cards details, etc. will be in wrong hands. • Conclusion – Do install an Anti-Virus

  8. Security tips Secure an Android and join it on a home/business network Check for operating system and 3rd party applications updates Password protect the device with a strong password Encrypt the storage - most phones have this option Install a locate, lock and wipe application Install an Anti-Virus Avoid connecting to open Wi-Fi networks as much as you can If your business uses loads of mobile phones, don’t worry there are good paid applications to create a special partition on the phone, keep everything within and have a virtual private network (VPN) between the phones and the office. Hackers will never get inside this way!

  9. Connect an Android with anything, anywhere • All Android devicesare fully compatible with any computer and have a synchronisation software available to install. Use it, and backup your device regularly • If you feel connecting a cable to a computer is old fashion, than use synchronisation software like: Dropbox, Google Drive, Box.net they will help a lot • Use the phone to connect to the world via Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, Instagram and many more other social platforms

  10. Connect a smartphone with anything, anywhere • Print and scan via Wi-Fi: many printers have Wi-Fi modules now • You can scan or picture a document and send it to the printer from your phone. You don't have to be at your computer for that, it goes over the Internet • Finally, use your smartphone to control your home/office via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi: control the lights, TV, music, air-con, move data between computers with a simple tap on the phone Fact: Did you know that on Google+ you can initiate a HD video conference with up to 10 persons in the same time for FREE?
