  6. Chapter 16091Starkville, MS Honoring Detective lott Since 1990, the “Labor Day Murders” in our town have gone unsolved since the initial suspect was cleared by DNA evidence. The victims’ families had little hope of closure or justice until Sept. 2018 when Dt. Bill Lott made a credible arrest for the murders. Ederesing & his k9 officer, dt.dan In front of 175 grade schoolers, Detective Chris Ederesing & his K9 officer, Detective Dan, were honored for their work in the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA). The duo even gave a demonstration of Dt. Dan’s sniffing skills that excited the audience. Leader: Jana Schoberg Region: Lawrence

  8. Chapter 10649Heber City, UT Honoring Adaptive dance mentors Members, guests and media were invited to watch Alison Russell and her team of dancers teach children with special needs.   10. Chapter 15456Hagerstown, MD School Bags for homeless students Members and guests worked together to fill over 600 bags for homeless students in their county. Leader: Lynn Bibbee Membership Coordinator: Rick Bibbee

  11. Chapter 5115Summerville, SC Painting the Youth Entrepreneurship center Members worked together to paint the entire interior of a new entrepreneurship center where high school students in the low-income area can sell goods to raise money for college. Leader: Brent Bice Region: Walker

  12. Youth service club 13860-1TGadsden, AL That Takes the Cake! Members worked in teams to prepare cake mixes and homemade icing. They learned how to use and clean small kitchen appliances in the process. The cakes were then donated to three local soup kitchens.   15. Summit Chapter 18188Rowley, ma Holiday pie sampling w/ nursing home residents Members gathered at a local nursing home to sample pies and visit with residents. Leader: Suzanne Carpentier Region: McDonald

  16. Chapter 16975El Cajon, CA New Year’s vision board party Rather than being overwhelmed after the holidays, members had a vision board party to organize and share their New Year’s resolutions. Members brought their own scissors, magazines and a snack for everyone to share and enjoy. Leader: Cindy Esquivel Region: Foster

  18. Chapter 7777Aptos, CA Live Auction BBQ Another local chapter recognized a firefighter as Hometown Hero who chose San Jose Firefighters Burn Foundation for his $100 donation. His family matched the donation, and that inspired fellow firefighters to do the same. When members heard about this, they wanted to use their matching funds to raise more money for this organization by hosting a community BBQ and auction. Leader: Reina Hoversten

  19. Chapter 15969Starkville, MS Teacher trivia night Members hosted a trivia night for local teachers and their guests. The entry fee was matched and donated back to the teachers. Attendees were also served a free dinner that members made. Prizes were given to the teachers at the three winning tables, and the local media was there to report on the event.   20. Chapter 3347Dayton, OH Volleyball tournament & live Auction Members held a volleyball tournament and auction in memory of a local soldier who lost his life. The event had a lasting impact on the family and community’s memory of the honoree. Leader: Katie Lavelle Region: Brown
