An Analysis of Notification Related Specifications for Web/Grid applications Shrideep Pallickara and Geoffrey Fox (spallick, gcf)@indiana.edu NaradaBrokering Project @ Indiana University http://www.naradabrokering.org NaradaBrokering Messaging Infrastructure WS-Notification WS-Notification comprises three other specifications viz: WS-BaseNotification WS-BrokeredNotification & WS-Topics Current release includes open source implementations of WS-Eventing & WS-ReliableMessaging.Forthcoming releases will include WS-Notification & WS-Reliability. WS-Eventing • WSDL 1.1 Message Exchange Patterns (MEPs) include one-way, request/response, notification and solicit. • WSDL 2.0 MEPs include Robust In-Only, In-Optional-Out, Robust Out-Only and Out-Optional-In which are extensions to the four MEPs that were defined in WSDL 1.1. Both specs leverage WS-Addressing and are based on the pub/sub paradigm.
