National Center Goals • Goal 1 - Create business/industry partnerships in delivering core technical education that meets the high priority needs of automotive manufacturers and suppliers. • Goal 2 - Increase secondary to postsecondary transition and from postsecondary to employment to meet industry needs. • Goal 3 - Implement a collaborative support system to sustain and replicate the AMTEC model. • Goal 4 - Create and utilize the automotive manufacturing maintenance assessment for continuous improvement of instruction.

  4. Deliverables Industry-led Multi-skilled: Curriculum Assessments Pathway Models Manufacturing Simulator

  5. Curriculum • A unique systems approach to technological content • Contextual content for adv. manufacturing • Modularized for efficiency and flexibility • Driven by industry • Partner colleges will implement in credit, non-credit versions within flexible learning schedules

  6. Courses Welding Machine Tools Electricity Mechanical Drives Safety Allen-Bradley PLC Siemens PLC Blueprint Reading Robotics Controls Computer Literacy Fluid Power Electro-hydraulics and Electro-pneumatics Preventive/Predictive Maintenance

Assessments AMTEC General Mechatronic Assessment - approximately 200 questions covering all 13 course areas 13 Course/Topic Level Assessments - individual course assessments ranging from 100 to 250 questions per assessment Pre/Post Module Assessments - each module consists of pre- and post-assessments to validate learning

Industry Voices • We understand that these programs produce our future workers. • We are very satisfied with the graduates and have no problem letting other companies know. • Our Industry is constantly changing so education must do the same. • For us soft skills and basic skills are still necessary for job success. • If things are bad now, wait until our valued skilled workers retire…and it will be sooner rather than later. • We found that the young men and women that we hired are amazing, all they needed was an opportunity. • Industry and education are not seeing the same issues
