  1. Illusion • Something that distorts your perception of reality when a stimulus pattern is incorrectly perceived.

  3. Ambiguous figure • An image that can be interpreted in multiple ways. • There is not one “right” way to see an ambiguous figure. • Once you have seen both interpretations, your perception will cycle back and forth between them.

  4. Necker cube • Example of an ambiguous figure. • The box can be seen as 3-dimensional with different sides as the front of back depending on how you look at it.

  5. Muller-lyer illusion • The Muller-Lyer illusion is an illusion that consists of stylized arrows. • The length of the line segments are the same, but perception changes based on direction of the arrows.
