  1. The Secret of Motivation and Inspiration7 Steps to becoming a successful teacher. By: Carli Sharp

  2. Part 1: How to make your excitement their excitement! • It’s up to you! You choose the attitude every day in your classroom. Students then take their cues from you. YOU create the weather!

  3. Part 2: How to make every student feel like your favorite student! • “Students who feel equally valued are secretly convinced that that are the teachers favorite student.”

  4. Part 3: How to show a personal interest in every student • “I make it a point to say hello to every student I see in the hallways every day. Whether they are former students, current students, or students who may never be in my classroom, I know that my smile is easy to give, its free, it makes us both feel better, and sadly, for some, it may be the only friendly greeting they receive that day.”

  5. Part 4: How to maximize the power of praise and success • S- Specific • U- Unconditional • C- Credible • C- Consistent • E- Enthusiastic • S- Stand Alone • S- Sustainable

  6. Part 5: How to use rewards appropriately • “It’s not just the reward that will help me to try hard, it’s your approach to it all that will help me stand or fall. So praise my efforts, please; accentuate the good, and I just might succeed ‘cause you believed that I could!”

  7. Part 6: How to motivate unmotivated students • Best ways to motivate unmotivated students: • Identify that that student is being unmotivated • Express your belief in the student in their abilities to succeed • Praise success as soon as it happens • “It is no so much what students walk away with in their hands, but how many sparks you ignite in their hearts.”

  8. Part 7: How to maximize the power of YOU • The very best teachers are the ones who always appear happy, who never seem to be having a bad day and who let go of their personal problems while teaching.

  9. In the end… • “Teaching is demanding! No one said it would be easy. If someone did, someone lied. But we must never forget that we choose to be teachers. We choose to make a difference. We choose to call ourselves professionals. Therefore, we cannot have an off day. The reason is simple: there are students in our care.” • “Remember teachers, that your influence is powerful. Be it positive or negative, it is lasting. You will live in the hearts of your students long after you are gone from this earth. Your influence is eternal!”

  10. Who’s My Teacher’s Favorite? Who’s my teacher’s favorite? I’m pretty sure it’s me. What? You think it’s you instead? That simply cannot be! Of course, now that you mention it, She treats us both the same, She smiles and me, she smiles at you She calls us both by name. She helps me when I’m struggling She does the same with you She helps us to to be better At whatever we’re trying to do. With any classroom rule she has She makes us both comply And when we feel like giving up, She encourages us to try So who’s her favorite student, then? We simply can’t deny That unmistakable, unequivocally It seems to be a tie!
