  1. Abb. 10.10NMR-Struktur des BCL-XL-Proteins mit dem α-helicalen 16er-Peptid aus dem BAK-Protein (orange). Das Peptid bindet mit Ile 85, Ile 81, Leu 78 und Val 74 (von links nach rechts, Seitenketten in hellblau) in eine tiefe Furche. Die Oberfläche des BCL-Proteins ist in weiß gezeigt, die Kontaktflächen der hydrophoben Aminosäuren des Peptids ragen alle in die Furche und sind als hellblaues Netz angedeutet.
