  3. Jesus Christ - present in Scripture & Sacrament Central to all that we do. He must always be the measure and not what is measured. A Catholic Common Ground

  9. Reminds us that All the Faithfulare called to a role of grasping truth or incorporating a decision or practice into the Church’s Life. That dialogue takes place within boundaries is a necessary premise. Without boundaries, no identity can exist. Ancient concept of reception

  10. Recognize that no single group or viewpoint has a complete monopoly on the truth. Do not envision ourselves or any one part of the church (Group) as a saving remnant. Presume that those with whom we differ are acting in good faith. They deserve civility, charity and a good faith effort to understand their concerns. WORKING Principals

  11. Do not substitute abstractions, labels or blanketing terms – “Radical Feminism”, “The Hierarchy”, “Conservatives”, “Liberals” – for living, complicated realities. Put the best construction on differing positions, addressing their strongest points rather than seizing upon their most vulnerable points to discredit them. Be cautious in ascribing motives.
