  1. CHURCH ORGANIZATION – PRACTICAL CONSIDERATIONS “…so that the manifold wisdom of God might be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in heavenly places. This was in accordance with the eternal purpose…” (Eph. 3:10f)

  2. God Planned… • And equipped the church to do all He intended it to do. • Eph. 3:10-11. • 2 Tim. 3:16-17 • All had same commandments – I Cor. 7:17; 14:33; I Thess. 2:14 • Various personalities, same Lord, same plan. • Questions I have been asked:

  3. Where Is Your Headquarters? • In Heaven – Eph. 1:22-23 • Here, many are thrown into confusion. How do you operate? • Find a preacher, build a building? • Principle: Any organization larger than the local congregation is without scriptural authority. • What about Acts 15? • Sometimes we get together to talk/argue about a problem. Debates, lectureships, etc. • But God makes the decisions.

  4. How Do You Start A Church? • Plant the seed! – Luke 8:11 • It makes Christians. Christians congregate into groups and you have a church. • Acts 2:47 • We think, “First you have to have a building, then a preacher, etc. • Commerce

  5. Who Makes The Decisions? • Location, style of building. • This is so insignificant in the grander scheme. • Important decisions – God works thru His people – Acts 6:1-5. • Important decisions have already been made, and revealed to us thru the Word.

  6. The Local Church Can Take Care of Its Own Affairs • Phil. 1:1 • Immediately – no appeal to some distant city. • No earthly headquarters – problems do not spread as quickly – and aren’t reinforced by “an authority”. • Places an emphasis on us. No other organization to do our work for us – I Tim. 3:15.
