  2. Declarative… • I want some ice cream. • A declarative sentence makes a statement about a person, place, thing, or an idea.

  3. Interrogative… • Can I have some ice cream? • A interrogative sentence asks a question.

  4. Imperative… Get me some ice cream NOW! An imperative sentence gives a command.

  5. Exclamatory… • Aw man, the ice cream truck just left! • An exclamatory sentence shows strong emotion or feeling.
