  2. Introduction • Plants make their own food but this plant eat their food that is insect. In the Pitcher Plant it has water that is called digestive enzymes at the bottom. It makes it easier to digest it. It is shaped like a trumpet.

  3. Environment • Pitcher plants ‘s environment are swamps and wet or sandy meadows.

  4. History • In the World war 1 1914,England’s Pitcher Plant got extinct but Japan saved them. • 1845 Charles Darwin Proved that Pitcher plants are carnivorous plants. • In 1658 In Madagascar they found pitcher plant. In the next hundred years This scientist called Linnaeus named Nepenthes in 1737.

  5. Where they live • Lots of them live in America but pitcher plants also can live in Madagascar,Sri-Lanka,Malasyia.

  6. How do Pitcher plants get energy? • Pitcher plants get energy as the same way as other plants. PHOTOSYNTHESIS

  7. Is there more carnivorous plants???

  8. Cobra Lily • Pitcher plants usually have a hole in the top but Cobra Lily has a hole in the bottom. The insect couldn't escape when it’s inside.

  9. Sundew • Sundew eats by this sticky stuff called mucilage. When an insect lands on the Sundew it will stick to it then it will curl an digest it.

  10. Venus fly traps • When an insect comes in to the Venus fly trap it will snap and digest it and get the nutrients. It will take 10 days to open the mouth again.
