Concept Overview • RCAC is an economical alarm clock for the entire house. • Subsystems • Configuration module • Display and Control module • Sound module (speakers) in each room • Communications • Wire-based connection from config to control module • Wire-based connection from config to output module • Infra-red transmitter/receiver in control module NN

  3. Application Context • Target market • Consumer electronics • Where it is used • At home by parents to wake kids up • In offices by managers to call employees to their offices • End-user • Anyone but children to use under parent supervision • Other uses • Can also be used in ships OT

Motivation • Major problem that the concept solves • Parents need not to get out of bed to wake kids up • Alarm output can be adjusted to very high, forcing children to wake up in case they try to ignore it. • Possible uses/applications of the system • As a one-alarm clock for the whole house, each room can have a different time that the alarm will go off in that room. • In ships for alerting crew (in different decks of danger) or just to wake them up as well. • By managers as a means to call employees to their offices. TS
