The Ground Rules • Browsers and Operating Systems • SharePoint, a Microsoft product, functions best with Internet Explorer 9 on a PC running Microsoft Windows. • Most functions work with other browser/operating system combinations. • “Your mileage may vary.” The Ground Rules (Slide 1 of 1) Return to Table of Contents

Signing in to SharePoint • Go to http://www.whi.org/ • Signing in is not necessary for the following: • Excel view • Signing in is necessary for these features: • Advanced Search • Viewing full-text versions of documents • Required additional permissions. Signing in to SharePoint • Click “Sign In” • Enter your username • Use the whi\usernameformat • Enter your password • Check the “Remembermy credentials” box,if the option is available. • Important: If the username and password window keeps popping up, followed by a blank screen, you may be entering invalid or expired credentials. Excel View(Publications and Approved Paper Proposals) • Provides a simplified Excel view, which allows for basic filtering of columns (free-text and pre-defined terms), along with a basic search function for the whole table (Find, upper left above table). • Features are not as complete as those found within the desktop version of Excel. • Strategy: Apply available filtering and sorting, and then export results to desktop Excel for more advanced filtering/sorting.
