  1. The Renaissance A Brief History By Mr. Searle

  2. My favorite artist from the Renaissance I chose Albrecht Dürer as my favorite artist from the Renaissance because he is a printmaker. Some say he was the father of printmaking because of his early use of woodcuts and engravings. His work never ceases to amaze me in its detail and beauty. Dürer was also famous for his landscapes and his water colors, he was a well diversified artist with many talents.

  3. Albrecht Dürer • He was an extremely gifted German artist of the Renaissance period, Albrecht Dürer (1471–1528) was born in the Franconian city of Nuremberg, one of the most popular artistic and commercial centers in Europe during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

  4. My favorite work by Albrecht Dürer Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, ca. 1497–98 Woodcut • The third and most famous woodcut from Dürer's series of illustrations for The Apocalypse, the Four Horsemen presents a dramatically refined version of the passage from the Book of Revelation

  5. Other works by Dürer Knight, Death, and the Devil, 1513–14 Engraving Samson Rending the Lion, ca. 1497–98 Woodcut

  6. Elsewhere in the world during the 15th century • The Aztec Empire dominated Mesoamerica from Mexico and Guatemala to the territories of Salvador and Honduras in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.

  7. Aztec Civilization Earth Monster Relief, 15th–early 16th century Stone Central America • Many ancient American peoples thought of the earth as a giant crocodile, turtle, or toad-like monster floating on the sea.
