  13. FOOD FOR THOUGHT Have any questions, comments or concerns about your food? Email them to us and we'll answer them! FOODFORTHOUGHT@MW.K12.NY.US Why can't my child get water with the lunch meal instead of milk? The school meal programs are Child Nutrition Programs and food components of the meal are considered for their nutritional value. The USDA states that water has no nutritive value, therefore, it can not be used as a substitution for milk or juice. Water fountains are always available near the cafeteria and bottled water is available daily for purchase.
