  1. GM and Southwest Airlines on Twitter What they are saying

  2. Comparison • Gm’s last few tweets have pushed message of a profitable 1st quarter. • Their push for a cleaner car and environment were evident in many posts. • Southwest pushed people to follow magazines like people on facebook in order to get promos for Southwest Air • They really pushed their customer service and cheaper airline tickets

  3. Customer Responses GM Southwest Southwest was very responsive to customer complaints in their tweets They even gave away prizes to customers like baseball tickets in order to promote their brand • Gm was not as quick and responsive to customers in their tweets • They seemed to be more interested in giving info about their new cars than interacting with customers

  4. Conclusion GM Southwest Southwest on the other hand was all about pleasing the customers and their needs Their strategy on Twitter will no doubt continue to benefit their company in the future as they will receive positive feedback form customers • GM’s attitude on Twitter was very much like their attitude in person and ads as they were more interested in pushing their message than customer interaction • This tactic may turn out to harm them in the long run as they may suffer due to negative customer response
