  2. Create an open-source media player that is easy to use and supports several file types. • Address the need for a simple media player that can be used in Linux. System Objectives Target USErs • People who use Linux. • Possibility of porting to Windows, but only if time allows. • People who enjoy listening to music.

  3. Necessary Components: • A standard working PC with Linux (preferably Fedora or Ubuntu) • A working playback device (i.e. speakers or headphones) • Recommended Components: • A working CD-ROM drive to import music from. Otherwise, it will have to be copied over manually. Architecture

  4. All members have good programming background. All are experienced with Java with varying degrees of knowledge in C/C++/C# and Python. • On average, team members can devote 8-15 hours per week. • TSP labs and computer science labs offer a good development environment. Team members also have laptops in case the labs are unavailable. Resources

  5. Potential issues: • Corrupted files • Wrong file type • Missing dependencies • Play a non-existing file • Overwriting a currently playing file • Opening multiple instances of APE Crosscutting Concerns

Support movie or picture files Purchase music through the media player Search for existing music files in other folders Share music with other computers on a network Create or edit music files Make the user a sandwich • Support several file types (MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, MIDI). • Start, stop, shuffle, and loop through music • Create, edit, and delete playlists • Import from CD-ROM • Adjust volume
