  13. Assessment 2 • To achieve 30 credits at QAA Level 7 course members develop three elements of their portfolio • Course members have to produce a portfolio of evidence to meet the requirements of the DCSF Citizenship Standards. In order to be awarded 30 QAA Level 7 credits the following three extended combined elements from the portfolio must be completed (5000 words or equivalent):- • 1. Case Study • Course members carry out an institutional audit relating to citizenship education. Arising from the audit, demonstrate to an audience an understanding of how a coherent citizenship education programme could be developed within their own institution. Following the presentation a revised action plan is developed in regard to the development of citizenship education in the institution. • 2. Action research • Course members should demonstrate a sound knowledge of the Citizenship Programmes of Study and an ability to work with others to design and deliver a series of lessons relating to their chosen subject area. They will be required to evaluate, reflect and look towards developing their citizenship teaching pedagogies. • 3. Critical reflection • Course members undertake a piece of reflective writing to demonstrate an understanding of citizenship concepts and values, which is underpinned by a review of available literature.
