  5. Cognitive Growth • Explore, experiment and problem solve with tools and materials • Learn concepts of color, size, texture and shape • Learn about cutting • Learn visual and tactile skills (rolling and pounding)

  6. Stages of Art Skill Development • Scribble= (18 months to 3 years) Includes dots, lines, multiple lines, and zigzags Not aware of their movements • Basic Forms = (3-4 years) Basic forms of circles, rectangles and squares More aware of movements and can state what they are drawing
