Harry Coumnas Coordinates Work with other Scientists Both in Field and in Lab

As a geoscientist, Harry Coumnas supervises the work of technicians and coordinates the work with other scientists, both in the field and in the lab. He is involved in the search for and development of natural resources. He studies the materials, processes, and history of the Earth. He investigates how rocks are formed and what happens to them. He collects geophysical, geochemical, and geological information in the field from seismic and well data and other sources.

  1. Harry Coumnas Coordinates Work with other Scientists Both in Field and in Lab Studying the physical aspects of the Earth, such as its composition, structure, and processes to learn about its past, present, and future, Harry Coumnas plans and carries out field studies, in which he visits locations to collect samples and conduct surveys. Harry presents his findings to clients, colleagues, and other interested parties. He makes use of a wide variety of tools, both simple and complex. He makes use of X-rays and electron microscopes to determine the chemical and physical composition of rock samples. He also uses remote sensing equipment to collect data, as well as geographical information systems and modeling software to analyze the data collected. Harry produces and presents geological maps and reports to colleagues and clients. He also plans and undertakes an exploration drilling program, after collecting and modelling all available data. He implements technologies in geological modelling and seismic processing. He makes assessments through study of well core and well fluid samples. Harry Coumnasholds strong numerical and computational skills to handle the large data sets. He possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to express ideas and findings clearly to produce reports and make presentations. He has great attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately.
