  2. About BuckeyeThonWhere we came from • Rosa Ailabouni in 2000 • In 2002 raised $32,474.50 • In 2008 raised $65,000 • In Total, raised more than $300,000

  3. About BuckeyeThonWhere are we now • Every year, students plan and attend BuckeyeThon 5k race • Ohio State Students pack into a gym and dance for 14 hours straight • In 2008, we doubled our dances to 645

  4. About BuckeyeThonWhere we are going • Challenged to make $1,000,000 in 2011 • Reached out to student organizations • Our goal is to have every student participate in BuckeyeThon once

  5. The Gee Challenge “BuckeyeThon is a great way to show everyone the spirit of this University: the fact that we care and the fact that we care deeply. Over the past few years we have raised over a quarter million dollars in support of this great endeavor. The truth of the matter is that we should raise a lot more. They raise a lot of money at Penn State. They raised a lot of money at Vanderbilt when I was there. This is the biggest and most audacious University in the country and we need to have this as a major goal.” President Gordan Gee
