  2. £ “Financial Freedom” V I S C O S E

  3. Values and Visions Ü Do not compromise your integrity. (Pro 20:7) Ü Set clear values and visions for your financial freedom. Ü Think, talk and behave in line with the word of God. Ü Prepare for your growing age. Ü Prepare to leave something for future generations. (Pro 13:22)

  4. Invest in yourself everyday Ü Develop your Attitude, Skills & Knowledge. • Study the artistic mastery of others and use them in your life. • Always remember that the largest room in the world is the room for improvement Ü Seek the advice of those whose daily work is handling money. Ü Become financially literate. (Ho 4:6 & Pro 10:14)

  5. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Hosea 4:6 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction. Proverbs 10:14

  6. Save, be fruitful & multiply • Pay yourself at least 10% of what you earn. • Be consistent and remember that saving is not investing. • Do not slave for money, let your money slave for you. Ü Sacrifice to invest in things that go up in value. Ü Look for ways to invest so as to produce residual income and do it wisely.

  7. Control and manage your expenditure Ü Never spend more than you earn. Ü Keep up to date records of your spending and check your receipts. Ü Shop for value and buy wholesale. Ü Buy with cash so as to stay disciplined.

  8. Over protect and guard against destruction Ü Rule no 1: never lose money. Rule no 2: never forget rule no 1. Ü Be careful not to co-sign a loan for anyone. Ü Assume the worst and plan for it. Ü Never put all your eggs into one basket. Ü Beware of partnership. Ü You must have a will and adequate liability insurance.

  9. Share with others • The secret of living is giving. • Always pay your tithe and give your offering. Ü Help others to become heroes and they will in turn help you. ÜGive, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. (Luke 6:38)

  10. Enterprising Ü Mine your own business. ÜPrepare a business plan. Ü Make work your best friend. • You may never become wealthy working for others. • Have fun and enjoy yourself.

  11. Some types of investments Stocks: represent ownership of companies. Bonds: represent loans made to companies. Mutual Funds: managed by an investment adviser. Shares: partial ownership of a business. Your home may be the largest investment you will make during your lifetime.

  12. Investor's Checklist • Shop around. Compare the products and fees of various banks, financial planners, brokers and investment houses. • Ask questions. All investments carry some degree of risk, so you should fully understand what you are getting into. • Educate yourself. Read investment and financial publications. • Get advice. A financial advisor, your accountant or tax advisor are all good sources of information to help you understand the choices you are making and what your risks will be. • Don't buy stocks or other investments pitched to you over the telephone. And never let a salesperson pressure you into acting immediately. • Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Diversification—distributing your money across different types of investments—is the key to sound investing. • Never invest in a product you don't fully understand. • Finally, re-evaluate your financial plan regularly. Also stop and review your plan whenever you marry, divorce, have a child, buy a home or retire.
