  4. Essex Cancer Research Network • A Merged network • Formed after an NCRN review of Essex-Anglia

  5. Merger of Mid Anglia Cancer Research Network[MACRN]-Colchester,Mid Essex AND • South Essex Cancer Research Network[SECRN]-Southend ,BTUH

  6. Where did we start from? • Population of Appx 1.5 million • 2 Cancer Centres-Colchester and Southend • Tradition of pre NCRN participation in Research

  7. Established links with Universities • Busy and well recognised Commercial Trial portfolio • Reputation :Breast Units,Plastic Surgery and others

  8. Aim • Access to Trials across 4 Trusts-Equity • Provision of Resources to provide access • Bring together Trusts -shared Portfolio • Open access for large studies-Centralise ‘rare’ ones
