  2. The Erasmus programme is a European Commission funded programme designed to support the European activities of Higher Education institutions, including the mobility and exchange of students. This includes work abroad & study abroad.

  3. Applying for a Work Placement Grant You must complete the following: • EWA001: Student mobility agreement / Student application form – signed by hand

  4. Before commencing your work placement • EWA004: Insurance cover form (You must arrange your own insurance which should cover you for working in Europe) Forms at: tinyurl.com/1213ewa

  6. The Erasmus Timeline • If you have submitted all the above paperwork you will qualify for your 1st grant payment. This payment is made as a single lump sum once the University has received the grant from the UK National Agency (normally mid/late November). • In 2011/12 it was 225 euros/month • Paid as a lump sum • For 2012/13 all payments will be made in sterling to your nominated UK bank account. Contact IT helpdesk on helpdesk@exeter.ac.uk with problems on this.

  7. During placement You must complete and submit the following: • EWA006: Receipt of 1st grant payment (which will be sent once payment has been made) • Student report (which is now on-line via UK National Agency) Forms at: tinyurl.com/1213ewa

  8. At the end of your placement (before leaving!): You must complete and submit the following: • EWA007: Certificate of attendance & Transcript of work (completed by employer) This will then qualify you to receive a second payment (if sanctioned by the National Agency) In 2011/12 this was an additional 147 euros per month. • And finally: EWA008: Receipt of 2nd grant payment Forms at: tinyurl.com/1213ewa

If you do not send in all Erasmus paperwork by the required deadlines you will be asked to refund all or part of your grant. • Failure to do so will • make you liable to pay 50% tuition fee for the year abroad • You will need to submit paperwork for each placement you do • All required signatures to be in ink by hand • All paperwork is preferably submitted as a scanned email attachment to erasmusworkabroad@exeter.ac.uk • it can also be submitted by post but postal services can be unreliable so if using this method keep a copy. • Any issues or queries: erasmusworkabroad@exeter.ac.uk Forms at: tinyurl.com/1213ewa
