The New Requirements • 2 Article Summaries - From EBSCO • 2-3 pages each, MLA format • 1 day of field experience (minimum) • Outside of the school building • Personal Narrative • Including a final copy, and a final bound version, illustrated. • Leadership Reading - must be selected from the class list. • Written Review - MLA Format, 3-5 pages • Research Paper • Inclusion of 2 article summaries, field experience reflection, college expectations, additional career research, and insight from leadership readings. • Class Presentation

Timeline of Events - March to May • 03/05 - Leadership Reading Selections • 03/09 - Article Summary #1 • 03/16 - Article Summary #2 • 03/19-03/22 - Field Experience Days • 03/26 - Personal Narratives Begin • 04/09 - Narrative Due • 04/13 - Illustrated Narratives Due • 04/20 - Leadership Reviews Due • 04/23 Research/Culmination Papers Begin • 05/04 - Research/Culmination Papers Due • 05/07-05/11 - Project Presentations • 05/14-05/17 - Senior Exams • 05/22 - Graduation…will you be there?

  5. Leadership Readings • Nonfiction text about leadership, or a specific leader/influential person. • See Miss McGuyrt for a list to select your title from. Your reading must be selected from this list. • You are responsible for obtaining your copy of the book. (no purchase necessary)

  6. 2 Article Summaries • EBSCO • The topic of the article should at minimum, loosely relate to your profession/topic. • MLA Format • 2-3 pages • Proper Citations

  7. Field Experience • You are responsible for contacting a professional in the field of your choice. Your mentors assigned earlier this year would be helpful. Set up at least one date/time to spend shadowing your professional of choice. • 3/19 - 3/22

  8. Personal Narrative • This is a personal story of your life thus far. • How have you gotten to where you are today? • Where do you want to go? • Who are you? • Who do you want to be? • Mini - Scrapbook

  9. Research Paper/Culmination Paper • Synthesizes your: • Research • Article summaries • College expectations • Additional career exploration • Field experience reflection • Leadership Reflection • 5-7 Pages • Minimum 5 sources • MLA Format

Presentations • Professional Presentation of: • Your Profession • Your Field Experience • Your Culmination Paper • Your Leadership Reading • Your Personal Narrative • Your College Expectations • (it’s like a presentation of all the material represented in your paper) • Powerpoint, Presentation Board, Prezi, Podcast, etc. • You must be PROFESSIONAL as well - practiced, dressed up, and invite others to view your presentation.
