  1. Duck on a Tractor By Mr. Bill’s 1st grade class

  2. Duck on a Bike by David Shannon is about a duck who finds a bike. He rides past many different animals who are thinking different things as he rides by. At the end of the story all of the animals find bikes and have a great time riding them. At the end of the book, Duck is interested in a tractor. Here is our version of Duck on a Tractor.

  3. One day, down on the farm, Duck got a wild idea. “I bet I could ride a tractor,” he thought. He waddled over to where the farmer parked his tractor, climbed on and began to ride. At first he rode very slowly, but it was fun.

  4. Then Duck rode past bee. “Hello bee!” said Duck. “Buzzzz,” said Bee. But what she really thought was, “You can hurt yourself.”

  5. Then Duck rode past panther. “Hello panther,” said Duck. “Rrrrrrr,” said Panther. But what he really thought was, “he’s still no match for me.”

  6. The Duck rode past Bird. “Hello Bird,” said Duck. “Chirp, chirp,” said Bird. But what she really thought was, “Duck is about to crash! Oh No!”

  7. Then Duck rode past bull. “Hello bull,” said Duck. “Bellow,” said Bull. But what he really thought was, “he’s still not as strong as me.”

  8. Then Duck rode past Monkey. “Hello Monkey,” said Duck. “Oooooo, aahaah,” said Monkey. But what he really thought was, “I bet you can’t swing on a tree.”

  9. Then Duck rode past Frog. “Hello Frog,” said Duck. “Ribbit, Ribbit,” said Frog. But what she really thought was, “Duck is going to crash into the trash can.”

  10. Then Duck rode past Alligator. “Hello alligator,” said Duck. “Hisssss,” said Alligator. But what he really thought was, “you think you can ride that tractor. Maybe you will crash into something.”

  11. The Duck rode past Lion. “Hello Lion,” said Duck. “Roar,” said Lion. But what he really thought was, “that was the silliest thing I’ve seen in my life.”

  12. Then Duck rode past Mouse. “Hello Mouse,” said Duck. “Eeeek,” said Mouse. But what she really thought was, “Look at that tractor!”

  13. Then Duck rode past wolf. “Hello wolf,” said Duck. “Howl,” said Wolf. But what he really thought was, “he is going to fall.”

  14. Then Duck rode past cat. “Hello Cat,” said Duck. “Meow,” said Cat. But what he really thought was, “I bet he will bring me a tractor so I can ride one too.”

  15. Then Duck rode past Tiger. “Hello Tiger,” said Duck. “Grrrrr,” said Tiger. But what she really thought was, “I don’t like that color of tractor.”

  16. Then Duck rode past Aunt Duck. “Hello Aunt Duck,” said Duck. “Quack, quack,” said Aunt Duck. But what she really thought was, “You come here!”

  17. Then Duck rode past Bulldog. “Hello Bulldog,” said Duck. “Woof,” said Bulldog. But what he really thought was, “That was really, really funny.”

  18. Suddenly a whole bunch of farmers came down the road on tractors. They parked their tractors by the barn and went inside for lunch. Now all the animals had tractors! They rode around and around the barnyard. “This is fun!” they all said. “Good idea Duck.” THE END
