An introduction to Green Impact
Green Impact, run by NUS and EAUC, encourages sustainability in higher education. The University of Leicester joined in 2009, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility through teamwork and engagement. Participants use a workbook to address key areas such as waste management, energy efficiency, sustainable procurement, and transport. The program’s timeline includes workbook completion, auditing, and an annual award ceremony recognizing achievements at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. Engaging in Green Impact enhances employability, builds community, and empowers staff and students to create a positive impact.
