Classes of Fires • Class A – fires that occur in ordinary combustible materials • Class B – fires that occur with flammable liquids • Class C – fires that occur in or near electrical equipment • Class D – fires that occur with combustible materials • The two types of fires that are most likely to occur in the drafting lab are A and C
FIRST AID • Notify instructor • Send someone for help • Administer first aid • Remove victim from immediate danger • Stay calm • Keep victim calm
PERSONAL SAFETY RULES • Keep chairs with all feet on floor • No running or horseplay • Use special equipment with permission only • Conduct yourself in a safe manner • Use tools for their intended use • Use tools and equipment after hearing safety instructions • Report all accidents to instructor • Lift heavy objects with supervision • Use paper trimmer with caution • Operate the white printer with care
