  2. Impairment of pcap files • Tool for the impairment of pcap files based on a trace file • Developer: Dr. Bernhard Feiten • PCAPDropPackets • Based on the WpdPack open source software • Usage • PCAPDropPackets.exe  <InFilename>  <IPadr:Port>  <TraceFile>  <OutFilename> • Usage for retrieving the IP address: • PCAPDropPackets.exe <InFilename> • TraceFile is an ASCII file – one line is read for each packet • Lines starting with ‘d’ result in a packet drop

  3. Towards the hybrid model in JEG • Participants are invited to contribute components that will be combined in the final model • JEG contributors have probably developed their own tools • Individual modules could be contributed • Slight modifications may be required for the use of existing modules using the HMIX files

  4. Towards the hybrid model in JEG

  5. Towards the hybrid model in JEG Bitstream Quality Indicators Framerate Picture Size MB type and QP HMIX MB type and Bitrate Motion Vectors and subblock pattern DCT coeff. distribution

  6. Towards the hybrid model in JEG Saliency and Visual Attention Object detection Background segmentation PVS Texture, Luminance, Color, Masking Effects HMIX Motion Vectors Motion based algorithms Perspective estimation Summary of Spatial Degradations Attraction of gaze by severe degradations

  7. Towards the hybrid model in JEG Temporal Visual Attention PVS HMIX Motion Vectors Temporal visibility of degradations Influence of Scene Cuts on Attention Behavioral changes across sequence

  8. Towards the hybrid model in JEG Image/Sequence Characterization Content type classification, e.g. “Cartoon” PVS HMIX Motion Vectors Amount of Motion Spatial Frequency, e.g. flat regions Content type classification Detection of Faces, Persons, ...

  9. Towards the hybrid model in JEG PVS Packet Loss Analysis Discontinuities, Artifacts Efficiency of Error Concealment in decoder HMIX Position and length in bitstream
