Helpful Websites • Federal Aid-FAFSA: www.fafsa.ed.gov – Remember students only have 12 semesters or equivalent to use federal aid. • State Aid-Hathaway Calculator http://www.wyo4ed.org/hathaway-scholarship • Student can check to make sure they are on track. • Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education -WICHE: http://www.wiche.edu/studentExchange • Check to see which schools outside of Wyoming participate. • College you are attending: http://www.communitycolleges.wy.edu/home.aspx

  3. Online Scholarship Management Systems • Online applications for students • Students can apply for multiple scholarships at once. • Students can check status of scholarship they have applied for.

  5. Limiting Scholarships? • Guidelines set by the federal government, for all Title IV schools • Title IV schools? Award federal aid, Pell Grant, FSEOG, Direct Loans. • FAFSA determines Unmet need vs. Unmet Cost • Scholarships vary, so limitations can vary based on types of aid • Students can have too much money. Colleges may have to adjust aid not to excess COA. COA (varies) 11692 EFC (FAFSA no change) 3500 = Unmet Need 8192 Pell Grant 1500 = Unmet Need 6692 = Unmet Cost 10192 Hathaway 3200 = Unmet Need 3492 = Unmet Cost 6992 Limitations can vary based on types of aid the student is receiving. Federal aid, State Aid, External aid, and Institutional aid.
