  2. Why address this problem? • With minimal investment you can have a factory running. • Within a short time scale, you can increase production, reduce unemployment, as well as reduce the size of the informal sector.

  3. How big is the problem? • Numbers : 450 – 1200 – 2000 – 4500 – 10000 ,…. • Reasons: financial, technical, non-business related issues.

  5. Efforts to overcome the problem • Newspaper ads over 2 consecutive Fridays in the largest two newspapers, and on MIFT, IMC, IDA websites. • 1400 applications. • Only 450 of the applications were ‘real’ companies with ‘real’ problems due to the current situation.
