  1. Business Mission • Mission statement usually deals with a company’s present business scope and its purpose. • It gives answers to three questions, Who we are? What we do? Why we are here? • A company mission is defined by buyer needs, • it seek to satisfy to customer group and market segment it Endeavour to serve, • and resources and technology it is deploying in trying to please its customers.

Business Mission • The mission statement captures the essence of an organization by identifying its purpose, what it stands for and why it exists. •  It makes a bold statement to the public and organizational members about the goals and underlying philosophies of the organization • The mission statement is a very personal and deliberate declaration that symbolizes their legitimacy to the world and what their desired public image is

Business Mission • The mission statement is one of the key components of strategic planning in organizations. • The importance of a mission statement is that it communicates to the consumers and investors the reason the company is selling their product. • The mission statement is based on an analysis of benefits sought by customers and a summary of the business environmental conditions. • It should summarize the entire reason a company is in business, and what the purpose of the product is in relationship to the consumer.

Example of Mission Statement • Facebook: 'Facebook's mission is to give people the power to share and make the world more open and connected.' • Coca Cola: 'To refresh the world; To inspire moments of optimism and happiness; To create value and make a difference' • Ford Motor Company: 'One Team; One Plan; One Goal; One Ford'

  6. Example • For example, let's say DhanBahaduris the CEO of Simple Socks, Inc. whose mission is: 'To provide the world with high quality socks at a fraction of the price.' DhanBahadur will use the mission statement to guide his strategic planning efforts by creating strategic plans that are focused specifically on quality and cost efficiency. This might include looking into higher quality materials or pricing out different manufacturers to get the lowest price on their end, which will result in a lower cost to the customer.

NOC Mission Statement • National Open College has the mission of establishing itself as an exemplary and pioneer college extending the horizon of eternal knowledge using student-centered, interactive, and innovative initiatives and approaches to impart practical / technical / professional education to strengthen moral purpose of the students for the overall development of the nation with a strong and effective support of job oriented education needed in the 21st century.

  8. Vision Statement • The major vision of NOC is to have leadership in education through dedication, devotion and discipline. NOC aims at producing Managers and Health Care Administrators able to manage Global and National Organizations. NOC plans to extend education in the field of Science and Technology, Long Distance Education, Open Education, Short Courses, Research, Consultancy and Training Services through self-learning approaches.

Objectives • To impart education of international standard. • To provide opportunities of higher studies and research. • To provide new and modern programs of study. • To develop very open, flexible and self esteemed learning environment and • To promote long distance learning system; open education, research, consultancy, health care and trainings. • NOC has developed its own organogram to implement the programs offered and to run the college efficiently & effectively on a horizontal flat-structured form. The present organogram is shown below briefly.
