  1. Annaghmore • Annaghmore is a big village. • Annaghmore means ‘Place of the Bog’. • There is a train at Peatlands Park and it takes you for a ride for one mile • You can go for different walks around Peatlands Park.

  2. Annaghmore • In Annaghmore there is a spar shop and Francis Neil Motors. • Francis Neil Motors is a Car Sales Room and it is close to our school. • The spar is a garage and a shop. It is opposite Francis Neil Motors. • The church is near to us and it starts at 11:30am – 12:30pm.

  3. Portadown • Portadown is the nearest town to Annaghmore. • Portadown is 87 miles away from Dublin. • It is 25 miles from Belfast. • Some shops in Portadown are Tescos, Woolworths, Easons and Argos. • Portadown has approximately 50 buildings. • Our families would go to Portadown to do the shopping. • The river Bann flows under Northway (a road in Portadown).

  4. Trees and plants in our school grounds • These are some of the plants at our school • 1 ash tree • 1 willow tree • Snowdrops • Daffodils • Primroses • 6 evergreen trees

The School Garden • Our school garden is outside our classroom. • It is a memorial garden for a past teacher of our school. • It has a bird table for us to leave out food. • There is a willow tree in the centre. • There are some hexagonal paving stones throughout the garden. • There are some colourful primulas around the outside of the garden

  6. Food and Farming • The main type of farming in Co. Armagh is fruit farming. • The main type of fruits that we grow in Co. Armagh are strawberries and apples. • There are lots of apple orchards around our school. • The main type of apples grown in Co.Armagh are BRAMLEYS. • The apple blossom appears in summer and the apples are picked at harvest time.

  7. The Birds and Animals in Annaghmore • We have many birds and animals in Annaghmore. • The main type of cow is a Friesian. • There are a lot of horses in the fields around Annaghmore. • American Harness racing goes on very close to us at Annaghmore Raceway. • Some farmers nearby keep sheep. • In Summer we have lots of Chaffinches and in winter we have lots of Song Thrushes and Robins around the playground.
