  6. Aggrandize • Definition: To increase in greatness, power, or wealth; to build up or intensify; to make appear greater. • Verb. • Synonyms: augment, amplify, enhance, exalt. • John D. Rockefeller worked to aggrandize his empire by purchasing oil wells, refineries, and pipelines.
