IMCA DIVER MEDIC TECHNICIAN & DIVER MEDIC TECHNICIAN REFRESHER BANGKOK THAILAND Diver Medic Technician (10 day) 12th – 22nd May 2014 (not Sun 18th May) Price: GBP 1000 Diver Medic Technician (10 day) 8th – 18th December 2014 (not Sun 14th Dec) Price: GBP 1000 DMT Refresher (5 day) 8th – 12th December 2014 Price: GBP 700 • The Diver Medic Technician(DMT) will be expected to perform a range of advanced first aid techniques in an emergency. This might include assisting in initial diagnosis, tending the patient, administering medication and/or fluids, taking control of the situation and liaising with a physician. These skills are particularly useful when diving on projects in remote areas. • The 10 day DDRC course consists of 60 hours theory and up to 30 hours practical work. Subjects covered include: • Airway management • Shock management • Respiratory/cardiac arrest management including use of AED • Care of casualties on site and during transportation • Wound management and closure skills • Diving incident management • Use of recommended medical equipment at remote sites • Care and treatment of the patient in the hyperbaric environment • Oxygen administration • Medical record keeping • Intravenous and IO infusion • Liaison with medical services • ------------------------------------------- • The IMCA DMT certificate is valid for a period of two years. DDRC Professional Services offer a five-day DMT refresher for students in need of re-certification. Attendance on this course must be confirmed prior to the expiry date of the existing certificate.
