Reading – Our story this week is “Journey to the Center of the Earth.” Vocabulary words are armor, encases, extinct, hideous, plunged, serpent. This week we will test the skill only on Friday! The students will be completing the paper that is typically their weekly test in class. Our target skill has to do with story elements (plot, character, setting, conflict, point of view, and theme)There is a different assignment for home this week, not a study guide. Please make sure you ask your child to see it because you are part of the assignment.

Language Arts- We are beginning our study of adjectives. If your child is having difficulty in language, ask them to bring home their language book nightly to review what we have done in class.

Science-

Students will study plate tectonics, earthquakes, and volcanoes the next two weeks. The star constellation research paper and illustrations were awesome!!!!

Students will define angles as acute, obtuse, or right. They will use a protractor to measure angles. Students will define basic geometric vocabulary. Math Superstars Lesson XIV is today and lesson XV is due on Friday.
