  3. WOW Anthology Noun: A collection of extracts from the writings of various authors. Ex: Most colleges use Norton’s Anthology of American Literature as a basic text.

  6. ATTENTION ALL AP CHEMISTRY CANDIDATES AND TEST RE-TAKERS • A review session will be held each Friday afternoon beginning this Friday, Oct. 3rd, 3:40-4:45, RM 114. The definitive schedule for the remainder of this semester will be given out at this first review. • Students who intend to continue on into AP Chemistry this Spring or who are planning to re-take the exam in May are strongly encouraged to attend these sessions.

  7. ATTENTION-STEM RAP TEAM MEMBERS AND ALTERNATES • THERE WILL BE AN INFORMATIONAL MEETING ON MONDAY, OCT. 6 AT LUNCH IN ROOM 114. ALL MEMBERS AND ALTERNATES MUST ATTEND.

  8. Hispanic Heritage Celebration Oct 10 at the Community Center. 6PM—Bring a Hispanic Dish for an hour of service. This was a GREAT event last year. Let’s make it just as great this year!! Bring your family, friends, dancing feet and definitely an appetite. See Ms. Fuksman for more info.

  9. 300 Club • Here’s your chance to be part of the CPATC community service club! The 300 Club! • Remember, students are required to do at least 75 community service hours in high school. So get involved now! • Go Spartans!

  12. ATTENTION BUS RIDERS!!! All bus riders must ride at least ONE DAY between October 3rd-17th • We MUST show full ridership in order for the state to help us pay for the buses. The buses cost us $200,000 a year!!!!!

College and Career Fair • Date: Wednesday, October 22,2014 • Time: 5:00pm-9:00pm • Location: Palm Beach County Convention Center • 650 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33401 • Cost: $10.00 (For transportation) • Permission Slips will be available on October 6th • This event is available only for Juniors.

  15. Step Team Step Team will be held Wednesdays after school. It starts next Wednesday on October 1st. It’s a mixture of boys and girls. If you need more information ask Robyn.

  16. DONATIONS OF HATS! • Donate a hat today and put a smile on a cancer patients face. These hats go to kids who have lost their hair because of cancer treatments such as chemotherapy. • The hats may be any type (new or clean used, ball-caps, snapback, goofy, etc.) • Donations are accepted until Tuesday October 8th. Bring the hats to the front office.

Announcements • Spraying perfume, body spray or sanitizer in any classroom or on a bus will result in a referral. • Cursing in a classroom, on school grounds, on the bus, at a school function will result in a detention. • Students are not permitted to get off of the school bus at any stop other than the stop to which the student is assigned. If you have a need to get on/off at a different stop or ride a different bus, you must have a note from your parent, approved and signed by Ms. Rains to present to the Driver. • The bus is an extension of the school and therefore, school uniform is required on the bus as it is in school.

  28. Somerset Environmental Club (SEC) Mr. Federici would like to invite all scholars to participate in helping take care of Mother Earth in a responsible manner. Do you do your part? Do you reduce, Reuse and Recycle? Do you know what that even means? In you are interested in saving the planet come by room 115 and sign up with MrFederici at any time. *Meeting day will be decided democratically by members. However, first meeting will be Thursday during lunch period in 115 *Students can get volunteer hours for participating and helping with the school wide Recycling Program

  29. Blue Bins on campus are for recycling only! Do not put trash in BLUE recycling bins! Do your part and Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Spartans! We need blue or green recycling bins for every classroom. If you have one at home, please consider donating to the school to help us help the planet! Bring to Federici in 115 ASAP!!
