  2. the whole process of making sweet stevia powder begins and finishes in our school Matija Antun Reljkovic High School

  3. in our micropropagation laboratory the plants are multiplied in sterile conditions

  4. the whole process is performed at a strict aseptic condition under a laminar air flow

  5. students use stereo microscope, scalpels and tweezers to handle the plants

  6. burner is used for heating and sterilization of all the equipment

  7. it all starts from the stem nodal segments, which are surface sterilized

  8. then inoculated into MS medium with different concentration of growth regulators

  9. until fresh multiple greenish buds appear and in vitro stevia shoots are ready for root development

  10. Stevia plantlets with developed roots after 6 weeks of culture look like this...

  11. and they are ready for acclimatization in sterile sand

  12. so plantlets are transferred into seed trays containing sandand peat moss mixture

  13. in May and June seedlings will be planted on our school field, and will hopefully look something like this...

  14. in late autumn, we harvest leaves from the plant, dry them in a warm dark area and grind them into a finepowder

  15. stevia can be used to sweeten beverages

  16. to sweeten all kinds of jam

  17. cookies and pies

  18. growing stevia is pretty easy since it’s not a demanding plant it’s pest resistant all it needs is plenty of sunlight and watergrowing stevia is the future...

  19. in cooperation with the young entrepreneurs of our school we started a company dealing with stevia growth and sales

  20. the company is led by 8 students through 6 departments • general managment • human resources • financial department • technical department • public relations • administration

  21. General manager Tea • coordinates all the activities of the company • deals with leadership and management of the enterprise

  22. Human resources led by Ivona and Ivona • take care of all the personnel • responsible for the selection, training, assessment, and rewarding of employees, while overseeing organizational leadership and culture

  23. Finantial manager Sanda • ensures a positive cash flow • covers the process of identifying and managing risks

  24. Logistics and manufacturing under the watchful eye of Diana and Ivona • organise production • deal with market research • manage the flow of goods between company and consumers in order to meet their requirements

  25. PR manager Dora • identifies main client groups • writes press releases,prepares information for the media • develops the company's identity, including the logo • manages parties introducing new products, or other activities the firm supports in order to gain public attention through the media

  26. Secretary Nikolina • prepares and manages reports and documents • organizes and coordinates meetings • organizes events • collates information • answersall inquiries and provides information • coordinates the flow of information
