  1. EUROGOSPEL Can we ever have peace with God? Romans 5:1-11

  2. Lord God of earth and heaven, I admit I live most of my life without you. I only call upon you when I need you. I expect you to do what I want, and I complain when you don’t. When I lose your peace, I blame you - but it’s me that moved. Thank you for making up when I was far too proud to shift. I accept your terms: surrender to your word and to your will. Thank you that Jesus died so I might be forgiven AMEN

  3. EUROGOSPEL Can we ever have peace with God? Romans 5:1-11

  4. Peace with God? YES How?

  5. Martin Luther “Justification by faith” (sola fidei)

  6. “Justification by faith - the summary of all Christian doctrines” “ - this immediately made me feel as if I had been born again, and as though I had entered through open gates into paradise itself. From that moment I saw the whole face of Scripture in a new light … so that this passage in Paul became the very gate of paradise to me!” Was it his faith that saved him?

  7. NOT rescued BY the tow-rope! By the towtruck - through the towrope! ‘Justification THROUGH faith’

  8. Can my faith save me? ‘Saved THROUGH faith in Jesus’

  9. “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we havepeace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ!” Have YOU? Are YOU saved? Yes … and No!

  10. Are you saved? I have been saved from the penalty of sin! I am being saved from the power of sin! I will be saved from the presence of sin!

  11. PERFECT TENSE ‘I have been saved from the penalty of sin!’ “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus … for what the law was powerless to do, God did by sending his son as a sin offering” Romans 8:1-3 “We have been justified!”Romans 5:1

  12. PRESENT TENSE ‘I am being saved from the power of sin!’ “We rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit” Romans 5:3-5

  13. FUTURE TENSE ‘I will be saved from the presence of sin!’ “Since we have been justified … how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him ( … shall we be saved through his life)” Romans 5:9,10

  14. PEACE WITH GOD RECONCILED TO HIM
